ISRI.ORG 21 2019 Annual Report Impact in a Year of Change ISRI’s Best Young and Brightest (BYAB), was hosted in 2019 by the Michigan Chapter in Detroit and included a three-hour training with Chris White from the Stephen Ross School of Business with the University of Michigan. The two-day event also included networking, team building activities, and site visits of local hot spots – a highlight included a visit to The Ford Rouge Factory Tour where attendees saw first-hand how the Ford F150 is made. Fifty of the industries young executives participated in this program. ISRI’s chapters held more than 60 events to facilitate networking on the regional level . 2019 marked the ISRI Women in Recycling (WIR) Council’s first year back after a long hiatus. Its accomplishments included an ISRI2019 panel highlighting women in the industry, presentations and networking events at both chapter and national levels, and the first WIR webinar, with over 100 registrants. WIR also established three subcommittees to focus on online programming, communications, and impact initiatives. ISRI’s Young Executives Council (ISRIYE) continues to grow and develop new ways to engage the 40-and- under membership. ISRIYE partnered with ISRI’s Century Club for an engaging panel discussion on the 2020 workforce as part of ISRI2019. The Council also hosted a networking reception as part of ISRI’s Commodity Roundtables and saw overall increased visibility.
