ISRI.ORG 25 2019 Annual Report Impact in a Year of Change ISRI2019’s highlights included attracting nearly 5,000 attendees, a sold-out exhibit floor, and networking opportunities that extended from early morning—ISRI’s first-ever fun run—to late-night after-hours parties. For the first time, ISRI hosted a Residential Recycling Summit during the convention that took a deep dive into issues affecting plastics, paper, and residential recyclers. The summit brought together all segments of the value chain —MRFs and other recyclers, brand owners, municipalities, and other stakeholders—to discuss solutions to residential recycling’s challenges. Design for Recycling ® (DFR) Award winner: Nestlé Waters North America, for the Nestlé ® Pure Life ® 700-ml bottle made from 100% recycled PET. Lifetime Achievement Award winner : Jerry Simms Youth Video & Poster Contest winners : Nimisha Kasliwal and Asher Hardis, Hilltop Elementary School (Beachwood, Ohio) ISRI 2019 Transportation Safety Award winners: Safe Driver of the Year: Mike O’Connor, Sadoff Iron & Metal Co. Golden Wrench Award: Aaron Radl, Sadoff Iron & Metal Co. Best Fleet: Reserve Management Group–Reserve Transport, Shine Bros. Corp., and Berman Bros. (Small Class); Rochester Iron & Metal, TJN Enterprises, and Cozzi Recycling (Intermediate Class); Metal Exchange Corp., Prolerized New England Co., and Schupan & Sons (Medium Class) Pacesetter Awards: Berman Brothers (Small Class), Rochester Iron & Metal (Intermediate Class), and United Scrap Metal (Medium Class)
